In-Line Tabbing
Tabs (wafer seals) are the small stickers used to hold open-ended mailers (self-mailers, booklets) closed. This is to prevent the Postal Service equipment from jamming. If you are sending a self-mailer and want to get the best rate and fastest delivery allowed by the United States Post Office, then you must tab. The cost to tab an open ended mailer is less than 1 cent for each tab. Your savings from the Post Office for tabbing is approximately 5 cents per piece. You save 3-4 cents per piece. For additional savings on tabbing please call us as you are developing your next direct piece.
The required number of tabs (either 1 or 2) and the location of the tabs on the mail piece is dependant on the number of pages, the weight (or thickness) of the paper, and the orientation of the mail piece’s fold side. At Corporate Business Solutions, our high speed tabbing system can apply the tabs necessary for your mail piece to meet these requirements. We use an almost clear tab to prevent covering up any print on the mail piece that might be in the required tab location.
Key Benefit:
- In-line Tabbing allows us to get your mail out faster by addressing and tabbing in one pass. Tabbing helps qualify for lower postal rates and faster delivery.
